Look what Santa dropped of for me

It has been quite some time since I have posted. I unfortunately have had a very difficult year which has made it troublesome to do posts. The problems and difficulties that had affected us this past year have been dealt with and with all powers that be won't return. So with all of that said my apologizes for my lackadaisy approach to posting I will try harder in the New Year not to be so lax.

So I actually wanted to post about what Santa had brought me. But I did thing an explanation of some sort was important. I received many books this year and to the point I will be reading s lot this year. I had gotten two books on Moon Spells. A subject that I actually have only a little knowledge in.

A second topic that I am a bit lax in is crystal magic. Now I do have all of Melody's book on the energize that crystals posses. But I don't have any books on crystal magick it's self, until now. So not only am I looking forward to reading more about the moon but also on crystals.

I actually have the Crones Book of Magical Potions. But I was never able to get my hands on the book f words. Until now that is so that should be good read as well.

The Witches Athame is a coming trend f books on witches tools. I actually have book's on wands, brooms, BOS or Grimore and now the athame. I find all of them very useful and helpful in understanding the individual tool of the craft. So yet anther good read, I am hoping for.

The final bk are almanacs and a daily planner. the magical almanac and the daily planner is an annual gift. The new one this year is Spell-a-Day. That is to help me to get better at doing magick. My thought was if I do a spell a day that I will get better at it. Think it as a honing practice. For lack of a better term.

So that is what Santa dropped f for me this year. Very cool and I hope to learn much from all f them.

Cloves

Cloves are a unique and very useful spice. These little flower buds have been used for centuries in cooking, for medicine and even in ritual and for religious purposes. Cloves also known by there Latin Syzygium aromaticumone of hundreds of aromatic evergreen trees. The family that cloves comes from is Myrtacea, which is also the same family that myrtle and eucalyptus comes from. The buds are harvested pink before they bloom and left to dry. It is after they have dried that you get the volatile oil.

Metaphysically Cloves have been used to bring forth love and money. A more common use, cloves is for them to be burned to remove negative vibrations and to keep people from gossiping about you. An excellent incense with high vibrations to remove negativity is equal parts angelica root, cinnamon and clove. Use this as an incense on charcoal or sprinkle it on a burning intention to remove obstacles. Not only will it remove any negative vibes it will also have a pleasing sent of apple pie.

Cloves have a monumental amount of uses in the kitchen. The famous clove studded ham at holidays, or the small amount in pumpkin pie spice. Cloves have and are used in many different ways in the kitchen. Pickling, brine's, spice mixes just to start. Mulling spice is a classic mixture to use in warmed wine or apple cider. Chi spice for tea and sweet curry is another common use. Cloves as mentioned above are used to cook a ham and to brine meats. Pickling spice has cloves in as well. You can also use a small amount in your baking for pumpkin and apple pie. If you make tomato jelly put one or two cloves in per cup. This will give your jelly a classic country taste.

Cloves contain the volatile oil eugenol which is the reason for its aromatic aroma. Another constituent is methyl salicylate this is the reason for cloves painkilling abilities. A very common use for cloves is in temporary relief of a toothache. You place a clove or clove oil near (with the oil it can be on) the affected area and you will have temporary pain relief. The Chinese have been using cloves since the Han dynasty (207B.C.E. to 220 C.E.)if not before. Cloves have been used for indigestion, diarrhea, hernias, ringworm and several fungal infections.

Today Cloves are still used much as they have for centuries. You can use them in your cooking, to take care of a toothache. Or if you wish to make an incense to remove unwanted energy from you life. Cloves are among one of the most versatile spices available. I hope you make room in your home for such a wonderful prize. If in fact you haven't already done so.

Opal

Last week I created an amulet out of an opal I picked up later last year. Now My affection for Opals is that they are my birth stone. A legend or wife's tale dictates that an opal will only respond to some that was born in it's month. I don't know how true or untrue that statement is but I really don't have to worry about it.

Opals themselves come in many colors and kinds. I originally thought it was just a common opal. After reading a little further I discovered it is actually a pink opal. Pink opal are wonderful little creatures, it is a stone of renewal. Specifically to renew the relationship of your self and divine. Through this renewed relationship you can also experience a spiritual awakening and heal all areas of oneself.

Opals are a fun and worth wild investment if you are inclined. I wouldn't worry about the legend I do believe if you create a relationship with you opal. You will have no problems of ill things happening to you. So I do hope you will look into an opal for yourself.

Protection and Reversal Magick

I just finished reading Protection and Reversal Magick a witched defense manual by Jasson Miller. The book is chocked full of ideas to protect your self from negative energy. Be it intentional or non-intentional.  Jason goes through an eclectic variety of ways to deal with such things as amulets and charms to protect your person, home and environment.

Jason covers how to recognize an attack and how to deal with it. he teaches you to do a daily protection and from there protect your self and home. The home can be car an or work place as well. There is also a chapter on asking the aid of Spirit Guardians and Servitors. Plus who to use the elements to great your own Spirit Guardian. Jason also covers Exorcism but cautions you from doing one on a person. Let a professional that has handled this before, be the one to preform such an act.

With a chapter on reversal and counter magick. Jason teaches you if you should be hit by negativity to send it back.  He also points out if you have a good daily base of protection you should never have to deal with such problems. Only for those extreme cases that do happen from time to time.

The final chapter is of healing, where you are taken through some very basic ways to start the healing process. Protection and Reversal Magick is a book that we should all read at some point. We all want to do good and I do believe we all strive for that. There are those occasions where that does not happen. You can not have good with out evil, that is not how this world works. There is a place for everything. We do need to have a strong bases if we should come across a situation where we need theses skill. So I recommend that we learn as much as wee can about our craft. All aspects of it and this book is a good place for this topic.

Crystals

Today was a cleaning day for me, actually I was cleaning my studio. I have three very large windows in my studio and the center window housed cranes over the holidays. I placed a tree in the window and decorated it with cranes. The rest of them I strung and hung in the window. Now that they are down I replaced them with Feng Shui crystals. These little guys are a wonderful tool to bring some wonderful energy into you space. They come in several shapes and sizes and when the sun hits them in the right spot. Well your room can become flooded with rainbows.

I was lucky enough that I owned a store at one time. That sold these crystals and many other things as well. When I had to close I didn't liquidate them, instead I saved them for later use. I you weren't lucky enough to have a store where you sold these you can still do this fun project.

You actually have a couple of option, you can purchase Feng Shui crystals. They range from a couple of dollars to over twenty. This all depends on size, shape and color. Another route is flea market for old crystal lamps. You can usually find these type of lamps with crystals missing. When there are some crystals missing the lamps go for a reasonable price. Then all you have to do is remove the crystals, sting and hang. A third option is to use naturally formed crystals, which would add an extra amount of energy to the room. I have one last option, you could do a mixture of all the above if you chose. If you are low on funds start small and as you can increase what you have.

Bring some happy rainbows into your life. They would be glad to brighten your day.
